Ranchi: On the occasion of 23rd anniversary celebrations of Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan said that the state of Jharkhand was formed as the 28th state of the country to fulfill the aspirations and all-round development of the people of this region.
For this he expressed gratitude to former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He said that as a Lok Sabha member that year, he also voted in favor of the formation of Jharkhand state, of which he was proud.
The Governor said that the Jharkhand Assembly has a glorious history. This function has been organized by the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly every year on its foundation day. Earlier, the Assembly functioned from the HEC building, now the Jharkhand Assembly has its own building equipped with better structures which was inaugurated by the Prime Minister.
The Governor said that Jharkhand state is full of natural and mineral resources and these resources should be used to solve complex issues like education, health, poverty, unemployment and migration. For this we all will have to work together. He said that the goal of politics is to serve the people. In this sequence, on the occasion of Jharkhand State Foundation Day, the Prime Minister launched many welfare schemes.
On this occasion, many schemes were also launched by the state government. In fact, it is the collective responsibility of all of us to live up to the expectations of the public. The Governor said that it is the responsibility of the public representatives to effectively present the problems of the people in this temple of democracy and play a constructive role. The ultimate goal of the legislative institution is to make laws for the public interest.
To make the Jharkhand Assembly one of the ideal assemblies of the country, we will have to rise above party sentiments and work. On this occasion, the Governor honored people who have excelled in various fields.
