Discussion was held for the expansion of Birsa Harit Gram Yojna in the financial year 2024-25

Ranchi: A meeting has been organized in the departmental auditorium to activate the State Plantation Advisory.

Rural Development Secretary Chandrashekhar said that many standards have to be set to make the villagers a part of the all-round development of the state.

Suggestions of all members will play an important role in this.

Together we have to connect the rural community with the mainstream of development in a planned manner.

In the meeting, MGNREGA Commissioner Rajeshwari B said that tree plantation work is being done in all the districts of the state under Birsa Harit Gram Yojna.

This time, apart from mango gardening, gardening of other fruit plants like guava, lemon, pear, custard apple, plum, jackfruit, drumstick is to be promoted and he also stressed on encouraging the gardening of mixed fruit plants.

The rural economy is improving rapidly through inter-farming through Birsa Harit Gram Yojna under MGNREGA, which will prove to be an additional source of income for the villagers in the coming times.

Joint Secretary Rural Development Department Arun Kumar Singh, Agriculture, JSLPS, Central Tasar Training Institute, Director IIRG, Director Agricultural Research, Agricultural Science Centre, JSWM TRIF Director attended the meeting.

It has been decided to implement a horticulture scheme in at least 50 thousand acres of land in the financial year 2024-25.

It should be ensured that the materials and plants required for horticulture are of quality. Saplings/tree plantation should be done.

It was decided to get the social audit of Birsa Harit Gram Yojna done soon.

For the successful implementation of Birsa Harit Gram Yojna and Didi Bagiya, it should be ensured that all related payments are made on time.

For the successful implementation of Birsa Harit Gram Yojna, coordination should be established with the concerned officials of MNREGA and JSLPS.

There should be IEC activity in all the districts for the successful implementation of Birsa Harit Gram Yojna.
