Review meeting in view of upcoming Lok Sabha elections at DC Office in Ranchi

Ranchi:  A review meeting related to election work in view of upcoming Lok Sabha elections was organized under the chairmanship of District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner, Ranchi Rahul Kumar Sinha.

Deputy Electoral Officer, Ranchi, Electoral Registration Officers of all the assembly constituencies were present in the meeting held in the conference hall located at the Collectorate, while all the Assistant Electoral Registration Officers and employees were connected online.

In the meeting, District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner, Ranchi Rahul Kumar Sinha reviewed the election work point by point in view of the preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India.

District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner, Ranchi Rahul Kumar Sinha took information about Assured Minimum Facility (AMF) in assembly wise booths during the meeting.

He instructed all EROs and AEROs to ensure arrangements for water, electricity, toilets, and ramps in all the booths.

The Deputy Commissioner said that ramps should be constructed in the booths as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India.

He asked all the EROs and AEROs to investigate at their respective levels and get reporting done through the BLO app.

District Election Officer Rahul Kumar Sinha instructed the AEROs/EROs of all the assembly constituencies to report vulnerable booths.

He said that the assembly constituencies from which Vulnerable Mapping-1 report has come should also submit Vulnerable Mapping-2 reports.

In the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar Sinha talked to the concerned AERO regarding low voter turnout booths.

The Deputy Commissioner gave instructions to work booth wise to increase the voting percentage at such booths.

He said that he himself will visit the low voter turnout booths.

The Deputy Commissioner directed all EROs and AEROs to visit booths where voting was less than 20 percent and make plans to increase the voting percentage.

District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner, Ranchi directed to focus on sweep activities to make voters aware.

He said that in the sweep activity, the most important thing is to inform the voter about which booth his name is in and what his serial number is.

During the meeting, District Election Officer Rahul Kumar Sinha said that Election Day is like a festival, good arrangements should be made for all EROs and AEROs to come to the booth.

He said that especially 80 plus, senior citizens, PWD and third gender voters should take care that they do not face any problem.

Taking information about PVTG voters, the Deputy Commissioner said that the voters of primitive tribes should be at the top of the line list, if they come forward to exercise their franchise then this principle is more important, ensure their voting at all costs.

District Election Officer Rahul Kumar Sinha appreciated the election work done in the Special Brief Revision 2024.

He said that thanks to all of you for properly carrying out the election work in the district during the SSR period.

The Deputy Commissioner said that in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, applications of Forms 6, 7 and 8 should be received and executed as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India.

The Deputy Commissioner asked all EROs and AEROs to ensure 100 percent distribution of Election Photo Identity Cards (EPIC) of voters in their respective assembly constituencies.

Rahul Kumar Sinha said that EPIC is being delivered to the voters through post.

If the Voter ID card is not being delivered due to incomplete address, then ensure its delivery through BLO.

The District Election Officer said that the concerned officers should also go to their nearest post office and check whether the distribution of EPIC is being disrupted, in such a situation they should cooperate with the postal workers in the distribution of EPIC.
