Cyclone Asani to have partial effect in Jharkhand

Ranchi: Cyclonic storm Asani will have a partial effect in Jharkhand. As the storm is not hitting any coastal area in the country for this reason, it is not likely to have a widespread impact. There is a possibility of a change in the direction of the storm from the Odisha coast via Andhra Pradesh as the storm is heading towards Bengal and since it will become pretty weak once it reaches due to this there will be some effect in Bengal.

At the same time, it will have a partial effect in some areas of Ranchi along with the eastern part of Jharkhand (Santal Parganas), Kolhan. The effect can remain from May 11 to 13. During this period the sky may remain cloudy while light rain may also occur in some places.

Scientists at the local weather station said that since it is not hitting the coast of any state this it will not have much effect. The sky is likely to remain cloudy and there may be a drop in temperature. At present, the maximum temperature of the districts of Jharkhand is running below 40 degree celsius.

The MET issued a warning of thunderstorms and lightning at isolated places in the south, east-central and northeastern parts of the state on May 11. During this time the wind speed can be 30 to 40 kmph. The maximum temperature of all the districts will remain between 35 to 37 degree celcius.
