Ranchi: Under the Chief Minister’s Employment Generation Scheme, a threefold increase in self-employment assistance given to youth in the last two and a half years has been registered. Under this, for the years 2021-2022, 1672 youths of the Scheduled Tribe community have been sanctioned loans out of which 1499 got microloans, 34 received medium-sized loans, 33 have been lent major loans, and 106 people got Vehicle loans. Among 682 Scheduled Caste youths, the number of people who have been lent microloans are 654, medium-sized loans are received by 13 people, major loans to 3 and vehicle loans to 12 were provided.
A total of 1096 microloans, 18 medium-sized loans, 25 large loans, and 41 vehicle loans were given to 1180 Backward Class youth. Under this scheme, 70 youths of the differently-abled category were given loans in the micro and
vehicle loan category.
At the same time, 372 youth in need hailing from the minority category were able to avail the benefits of the scheme. For this, an amount of 59.61 crore has been disbursed by the Government. The benefits of the Chief Minister Employment Generation Scheme are being provided for the year 2021-22.
Prior to this the scheme was not implemented for the years 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2019-20 respectively. With the formation of the new Government, the scheme was relaunched, so that the youth could engage in self-employment and tread on the path of economic prosperity.
On the other hand, under the term loan schemes approved by income growth, self-employment and national financial institutions, Scheduled Tribe youths were provided with a sum of Rs 60.15 lakh which was given to 44 people in the year 2017-18, Rs 107.85 lakh to 256 people in the year 2018-19 and 323 people in the year 2019-20 were given loans of 211.76 lakh. In this way, an amount of 379.76 lakh was lent to 623 youths in the last three years.
For Backward Classes, an amount of 4.60 lakhs was given to 15 people in 2017- 18, 30.05 lakhs to 114 in 2018-19 and 89.50 lakhs to 225 people in the year 2019-20. In this manner, an amount of 124.15 lakh was distributed among a total of 354 youths of the Backward Classes. 36 differently-abled youths were also provided with the benefits of the given scheme. 6 people were given benefits in 2017-18, 12 in 2018-19 and 18 people in the year 2019-20.
Among these 36 people, an amount of 43.60 lakh was distributed in the last three years. An amount of 251.73 lakh was disbursed among 241 youth of Scheduled Castes in the year 2017-18, an amount of Rs 130.17 lakh among 259 youth in 2018-19 and 229.85 lakh among 556 youth in the year 2019-20.
A total of Rs 611.75 lakh loans were given to Scheduled Tribes in between these three financial years. In the year 2019-20, an amount of 125.05 lakh was distributed to 215 people from the minority community providing them with the benefits of the above-mentioned scheme, whereas, not one person coming from the minority community received the benefit of the scheme in the years 2017-18 and 2018-19.
