NTPC Coal Mining HQ sponsors Project Affected Youths for Skill Development training at CIPET, Ranchi

Ranchi: Core to the company’s philosophy, CSR has been an integral part of NTPC’s business of power generation and lighting up the lives of millions of Indians. In view of the above spirit, for the development of the local community, skill development plays an important part in self-reliance and empowerment.

NTPC Coal Mining has taken up the initiative to sponsor 80 project-affected youths including 4 girls from all coal mining projects and its vicinity located in the States of Jharkhand, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh for skill development in association with the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET), Ranchi.

This skill development program was inaugurated at CIPET Ranchi by Partha Mazumder, Regional Executive Director (Coal Mining ), NTPC in the august presence of Pravin Bachhav, Joint Director & Head, CIPET, Ranchi, and Shivam Srivastava, Head of project (Pakri Barwadih), S K Ray, Head of project (Taliapalli), Faiz Taiyab, Head of project (Kerendari), B M Singh, Head of Project (Chattibariatu), K S Murthy, GM (HR), Amit Kumar Dubey, GM (Safety & Mining) and T K Konar GM(Technical Services).

During the training, CIPET will provide job-oriented skill development training to the youth in two courses i.e Machine Operator – Plastic Processing & Machine Operator – Injection Moulding. Speaking on the occasion, Regional Executive Director Partha Mazumder said that everyday use of products made up of plastic other than single-use plastic is extensive which shows the market is large and so demand for jobs in this field is very encouraging.

Addressing the students enrolled for the course he shared that CIPET is a very good institute in the field of plastic engineering, which will provide a better opportunity to learn and develop skills during this six-months program and will facilitate employment as well as entrepreneurship. So all the students should dedicate their maximum time to learning the course and utilize the facilities of machinery, laboratories, etc. available at CIPET, Ranchi. 

On the occasion, the Head of NTPC Coal Mining projects and senior officials shared their views and conveyed good wishes to the students for successful completion of the course and to inspire others with their success story. Prior to the inaugural program, the Regional Executive Director (Coal Mining), BUHs of Coal mining Projects, and Senior officials of NTPC Coal Mining projects visited the CIPET campus and its workshops, and laboratories to learn about the academic and industrial facilities.
