National Open Under 23 Athletics: Jharkhand’s Basanti wins bronze medal in 5000 meters

Ranchi: On the third day of the 3rd National Open under 23 Athletics Championship held at Sports Complex, Chandigarh under the aegis of Indian Athletics Federation, New Delhi and West Chandigarh Athletics Association, Basanti Kumari of East Singhbhum won the bronze medal in 5000 meters with a timing of 16:57.48 seconds.

The gold medal of this event was won by Neha Pawar of Uttar Pradesh and the silver medal was won by Prajakta of Maharashtra. In this championship, athletes from Jharkhand won 2 silver and 3 bronze medals.

On this achievement, Jharkhand Athletics Association President Dr. Madhukant Pathak, Secretary CD Singh, SK Pandey, Dr. Prabhat Shankar, Binod Kumar Singh, Alok Mishra, Ashish Jha, Sukhair Bhagat, Rakesh Singh, Barun Kumar, Kiran Rani Sahu, Sanjay Tripathi, Ravindra Sangh officials including Murmu, Bandhan Toppo, Ashu Bhatia, Prabhat Ranjan Tiwari, Sikandar Mahato, Ajit Sahu, Ajay Nayak, Ranveer Singh, Prabhakar Verma, Anna Goreti Minz, Mukul Toppo, Arvind Kumar, Yogesh Yadav, Ashok Kumar, Shashank Bhushan Singh were present.
