Jharkhand Assembly appointment scam: Next hearing in HC now on December 7

Ranchi: The PIL filed demanding an investigation into illegal appointments in the Jharkhand Assembly was heard on Thursday in the division bench of High Court Chief Justice Sanjay Kumar Mishra and Justice Anand Sen. During this, advocate Anil Kumar, appearing on behalf of the Assembly, said the court that he had received the report of Justice SJ Mukhopadhyay Committee. Now that report will be presented before the Assembly. After which the court has set the date of December 7 for the next hearing of this case.

Shiv Shankar Sharma has filed a PIL in the High Court demanding an investigation into illegal appointments in the Jharkhand Assembly. It has been said in this petition that there were irregularities in the appointments made in the Assembly between 2005 and 2007.

Justice Vikramaditya Prasad Commission was first formed to investigate the matter. The commission had also investigated and submitted a report to the Governor in the year 2018. After which the Governor directed the Assembly Speaker to take action. But no action has been taken yet.
