Monsoon to arrive in Jharkhand between June 13 and 17, Heat wave alert on 18-19 May – MeT Department

Ranchi:  The monsoon will arrive in the country on May 31, a day before the scheduled date of its arrival on June 1. It will reach Kerala first and Rajasthan last. Monsoon will arrive in Jharkhand between June 13 and 17. The effect of rising temperatures in the state will now be visible.

The Meteorological Department has not issued any alert on Thursday. There is a possibility of partly cloudy sky in some parts of the state but there is no possibility of rain. Temperature has started rising in some parts of the state.

The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert regarding heat waves on May 18 and 19. The Meteorological Department has appealed to the people to remain alert. The areas for which an alert has been issued on May 18 include Seraikela-Kharsawan, East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Dumka, Godda, Pakur and Sahibganj.

On May 19 also, there is a danger of a heat wave in Seraikela-Kharsawan, East and West Singhbhum, Garhwa, Palamu, Dumka, Godda, Pakur and Sahibganj. The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of partly cloudy sky in many parts of the state during this period also. Now the temperature may also increase.

The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility that the temperature may cross the 40 degree mark during this period. The minimum temperature is likely to be 27 degrees Celsius. If we look at the temperature of the last 24 hours in the state, there has been light to moderate rain at some places along with strong winds at many places in the state.

Fatehpur (Jamtara) recorded a maximum rainfall of 19 mm in the state. The highest temperature in the state was recorded at Godda at 41.1 degrees Celsius. The lowest temperature was 23.9 degrees Celsius in Ranchi.
