Family members keep corpse for three days inside home in Jamtara

Jamtara: In Charkapani village falling under Narayanpur Police Station area of this district family members had been keeping a corpse hidden in their home for the last three days.

The incident came to notice only when foul smell started reaching the homes of the neighbours. When they confronted the family they were scared away after which police were alerted. A police team which later reached the village forced the family members to come out and after that the body of a 55 year old man was recovered.

The deceased was identified as Jitan Tudu (55). Later the body was sent for post-mortem. Sub Inspector Jaiprakask Ekka who was present on the spot said that whether the man has been murdered or died naturally would be clear only after the post-mortem report comes.

The villagers said that four days ago Jitan had a fight with his wife, son and daughter-in-law and during the fight he was murdered by his family members and to hide their crime they had kept the body in the home. Later police arrested the son of the deceased and brought him for questioning to the police station.
