Ramgarh: In a gruesome incident three people including a four month old infant lost their lives while four other including women sustained serious injuries as a car got crushed between a trailer and a truck at Patel Chowk under Ramgarh Police Station area on the NH-33 of this district.
Police said that seven people hailing from Chainpur Sirka of Kujju OP and Ramgarh had gone to Ranchi for the treatment of the 4 month old infant. On their way back the car driver overtook a trailer but unfortunately, a coal-laden truck entered into the wrong lane and hit the vehicle as a result of which the car got crushed between the trailer and the truck.
It took policemen who were helped by the local people more than a couple of hours to take out the people from the badly damaged car as first police had to use a crane to set aside a truck after which gas cutters were used to cut out the car and subsequently the people were taken out.
Those with serious injuries were sent to RIMS Ranchi while the bodies have been sent for post-mortem to Sadar Hospital. The deceased included Mangali Devi, Mahesh Trivedi and 4 month old infant while the injured included Rajkumar Tiwari, Madhuri Kumari, Laxmi Dwivedi and Pankaj Mishra. Barring Rajkumar all the injured were sent to RIMS.
