Chief Minister Hemant Soren participated in the Honouring Ceremony of Players and Coaches

Ranchi:  Chief Minister Hemant Soren honoured the players and coaches who represented the state in national, international and Olympic Games and won gold, silver and bronze medals in the competitions by presenting them honorarium.

For the first time in the state, such a big event was organized in the honour of players and coaches.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that the way this stadium is decorated, the way players and coaches from different areas of the state are present, the purpose for which this complex and stadium has been built, ceremony is a special celebration of this complex and stadium.

The Chief Minister said that my vision is that such events should be organized here continuously, so that its message resonates not only in Jharkhand but in the entire world.

Our government is moving forward with the vision that in the coming days, no game in the country should be completed without players from Jharkhand.

Our young players of Jharkhand should bring glory to the country and the state in the whole world by showcasing their skills in every sport.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren said these things today while addressing the “Memory Money Distribution Ceremony to Players and Coaches” organized at Harivansh Rai Tana Bhagat Indoor Stadium, Mega Sports Complex, Khelgaon, and Ranchi.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister congratulated all the players and coaches who received awards and wished them a bright future.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that today the players of Jharkhand are excited and trying to advance themselves towards sports.

We will not let this effort of all you players go to waste.

Our government will make every effort to hone your skills and provide a better platform.

I myself keep a close eye on the game.

The Chief Minister said that the work that had not been done in the field of sports in the last 20 years had come to a complete halt.

Our players did not understand what our future would be while playing?

Our government has made an honest effort to address all such concerns of the players.

The Chief Minister appealed to all the players present not to worry, move forward in the direction of sports.

Our government will take care of your future.

We will work to move you forward with full guarantee that your entire life will be safe.

The state government will do the work of promoting not only the players but also their coaches.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that we will not only prepare the players of Jharkhand to win medals, but will also work with the aim of creating a banyan tree of sports in Jharkhand.

In the coming time, efforts will be made to make the nursery of players in this state truly meaningful.

Our government is also moving towards this work.

To fulfill this objective, the Sports Department has started its efforts at Panchayat, Block, District, and National and International level.

The Chief Minister said that the government has given direct appointment to 40 players, the matter will not end here.

Players will continue to be appointed in future also.

The skill shown by the players of Jharkhand has to be acknowledged.

He has made his position on the basis of his strength.

The Chief Minister said that earlier very little amount was distributed to the players as honorarium, which was not fair.

Our government has decided that no cash prize should be less than Rs 50,000.

Now no award is less than Rs 50,000 and the government has capped it at Rs 5 crore.

The Chief Minister said that separate arrangements will be made for sports competition for those who are not physically fit and are inclined towards sports.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that “Sido-Kanho Youth Sports Club” is being started to further strengthen the sports culture at the Panchayat level.

Each club will be given a grant amount of Rs 25,000/- (twenty five thousand rupees) every year.

The Chief Minister said that in the areas which are Naxal affected, our government has started Sahay Yojana with the aim of motivating the youth towards a positive life by associating them with sports.

Last year about 75 thousand players took part in the Sahay competition.

This year we are going to increase its scope from 5 districts to 7 districts.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that the state government will do the work of providing better coaching within the country for training the players.

For the first time in the country, Jharkhand Women’s Asian Hockey Champions Trophy – 2023 is being organized by Hockey India and the State Government from 27 October to 05 November 2023.

Teams from 06 countries of Asia will participate in it.

The daughters of Jharkhand will also participate in this tournament.

This is the first time that such a big competition is being organized in Jharkhand.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that the Sports Department has also started Johar Khiladi Portal, this portal is the first such portal in the country where data of sports and players will be collected and every possible help will be provided to them.

This portal will have complete details of players and coaches.

On this occasion, Minister of Tourism, Art, Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Hafizul Hasan said that for the first time after the formation of the new sports policy in the state, honor money is being distributed among the players and coaches.

An amount of approximately Rs 5 crore is being given to 222 players and 52 coaches as rewards.

He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the players of the state are being moved towards a better direction.

In the coming times also, the Sports Department will work with commitment in the interest of the players and coaches by making a better action plan under the leadership of the Chief Minister.

On this occasion, Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Maji, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Vandana Dadel, Secretary to Chief Minister Vinay Kumar Choubey, Departmental Secretary Manoj Kumar, Municipal Commissioner Amit Kumar, Sports Director Sushant Gaurav and many former Olympians were honored.

Players, coaches and other dignitaries were present in large numbers.
