CCL’s summer volleyball and cricket training camp concluded, 140 children participated

Ranchi: A summer volleyball and cricket training camp was organised for children at Central Coalfields (CCL) Gandhinagar ground from 30th May, which concluded on Sunday, June 11.

A total of 140 children in the age group of 8 to 16 years participated in this camp. The objective of the camp was to provide an opportunity to young athletes to hone their skills in both volleyball and cricket.

Also to promote teamwork, sportsmanship and a healthy lifestyle. Sports Manager Adil Hussain and Personnel Manager  Divya Singh were specially present at the closing ceremony. Camp Activities: The camp included a a comprehensive program of activities designed to develop the participants’ skills in volleyball and cricket.

Each day the routine began with warm-up exercises and stretching to prevent injuries and improve flexibility. The participants were then divided into groups based on their age and skill level. Volleyball Training: Volleyball training sessions taught the fundamentals of the game such as serving, passing, setting, attacking, and blocking. Participants learn various techniques through drills, practice matches and friendly competitions.

Experienced coaches guide participants to help improve their technique and tactical understanding of the game. Coach Nishikant Pathak and his associates Rahul Munda, Satish Urav and Ravi Mandal had a special contribution in organizing the camp. Cricket Training: The objective of the cricket training session was to improve the batting, bowling and fielding of the participants.

Participants were taught proper batting stance, footwork and shot selection. Players received training on bowling techniques including grip, run-up and release.

Fielding drills and match scenarios helped in enhancing his fielding abilities. The coaches emphasized fair play and encouraged teamwork throughout the training session. Zeeshan Khan, Ravi Parida, Randhir Kumar and Lalan Singh contributed in organizing the camp. Friendly Match: Friendly matches were also organized between different groups to provide practical experience to the participants.

These matches allowed participants to apply their skills in a competition setting while fostering teamwork and sportsmanship. Coaches closely monitor matches and provide constructive feedback. Also encouraged the participants to learn many talents in a positive way.
