Palamu : In action against corruption, ACB on Friday fined two employees of Medininagar Municipal Corporation Rs 4,000. They were arrested while taking bribes. The arrested city manager Anil Oraon (35) and surveyor Rakesh Kumar (33) are associated with the work of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in the Municipal Corporation.

The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is approved by the Municipal Corporation in the name of Ejajul’s mother Lailoun Bibi. The first installment of the scheme is Rs 45 thousand and the second installment of Rs 67600 has been paid.
A bribe was demanded from the beneficiary to send the third installment amount of Rs 90 thousand to the account. City Manager Anil Oraon and Surveyor Rakesh Kumar met the beneficiary and demanded Rs 4,000.
The complainant did not want to pay the bribe. Therefore he complained about it to ACB. On Thursday, after the demand for bribe was confirmed, both the City Manager and the Surveyor were caught taking bribes from the complainant in the councilor’s chamber of the Municipal Corporation office.
The arrested city manager is from Pithoria in Ranchi and the surveyor is from Navatoli in Medininagar.
