1033 PGT teachers of tribal, regional languages will be reinstated in 510 + 2 schools of Jharkhand

Ranchi:  The Department of School Education and Literacy has started preparations for the early commencement of studies in humanities, regional and tribal languages in government schools of Jharkhand.

To start teaching these languages in all the 510 plus two schools of the state, the process of appointing teachers will first start.

For this, the department has prepared a proposal to create the post of 1033 Post Graduate Trained Teacher (PGT) in humanities, regional and tribal subjects.

This proposal has been sent to the Administrative Cadre Committee.

After getting approval from there, the process of appointment will start soon.

Under the order passed by the court in PIL No. 3547/2016 filed in the High Court, the department had constituted a committee to recommend creation of new posts and surrender of irrelevant posts.

This committee has prepared a proposal for creation of 1033 new posts.

At present, 11 subjects are taught in Plus Two schools of the state.

In these, one post each has been created in all the schools for Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Economics, Geography, History, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Mathematics and Commerce subjects.

After getting the approval of the committee’s recommendation, two more posts will be created in the schools.

There are a total of 635 plus two schools in Jharkhand.

Out of these, posts are sanctioned in 510 Plus Two schools, while 125 schools have been upgraded to Plus Two.

Till now no posts of teachers have been sanctioned for the upgraded schools.

About 276979 children study in 11th and 12th in Plus 2 schools.

A total of 5610 posts of teachers are sanctioned to teach these students, but only 2490 are employed.

Palamu 31, Dhanbad 17, Bokaro 21, Koderma 18, Simdega 13, Giridih 27, Hazaribagh 38, West Singhbhum 36, Pakur 16, East Singhbhum 20, Ranchi 37, Ramgarh 12, Seraikela Kharsawan 18, Sahibganj 16, Deoghar 26, Dumka 23, Jamtara 11, Garhwa 23, Godda 26, Gumla 19, Latehar 16 and Lohardaga have 12 plus two schools.
