Ranchi, Nov 9: Former cabinet minister and JVM(P) central general secretary Bandhu Tirkey alleged that the state government did not have any knowledge regarding the tribal cultures and traditions.
Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters here he said that the state government was spreading false message about ‘pathargadi’ which was actually part of the tribal tradition. He said that the Chief Minister should be aware that Jharkhand falls under the 5th schedule under which tribals have been provided many provisions.
He said that the poor tribals living in the villages do not have knowledge about these constitutional provisions and through ‘pathargadi’ they are being informed in this regard. He said that the state government through banner, posters and advertisement was creating false impression regarding the practices and was also dragging the name of Bhagwan Birsa Munda.
