Raghubar directs Chief Secretary to take strict action against shell companies

Ranchi, Nov 9: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today directed Chief Secretary Rajbal Verma to take strict action against the shell companies in the state.

He said that such shell companies do not have any place in Jharkhand and added that the state government would welcome companies which are here to work but has not place for fake and shell companies. Following the orders of the Chief Minister the Chief Secretary has issued necessary instructions to the DCs and SPs of the state.

Following the instructions a curb has been put on all transactions, movable and immovable assets of 634 shell companies in the state. The Chief Secretary said that as per the provisions of the company act the assets of these shell companies would be identified and their custody would be taken by the police.

Ms Verma said that the Corporate affairs ministry, Finance Ministry and the Indian Banks Association were working to seize the bank accounts of these shell companies. She asked the officials to issue a letter to the district banks and ask them to take action in this regard.

She said that the central government has initiated action against these shell companies. She said that in the present circumstance the certificate of incorporation of the 634 companies in Jharkhand have been cancelled. She asked the officials to inform the state government regarding the action taken on these companies in the next 15 days.
