Janmashtami was celebrated with devotion and joy on Thursday, 7th of September at Yogoda Ashram, Ranchi . Celebration started with a group meditation of one and half hour in Morning and then from 9:30 a.m to 11:30 a.m devotees attending the program joined joyous chanting of bhajans led by Swami Amarananda and Brahmachari Shambhavananda while Janmashtami puja was being performed. After the bhajans, prasad was distributed to the devotees and sannyasis present there.
About 450 devotees participated in this event. Ceremony ended with 3 hour long meditation in the evening, where Swami Amarananda read an inspiring story from Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam (Bhāgavata Purāṇa) and narrated an incident from the book “Mejda” recounting how Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda’s got darshan of Bhagavan Krishna.
