Ranchi: World Post Day was observed on Monday and National Postal Week Celebrations week began at Doaranda Post Office in Ranchi on Monday. “In order to enhance the efficiency and Popularity of the Postal Service we have launched a digital edition of the Postal Service” said Chief Post Master General Rakesh Kumarin a press conference at Doranda Post Office in Ranchi on Monday.
He added in the year 1874 in Switzerland Universal Postal Union started on October 9 to have communication with Relatives and Friends World Wide from that day October 9 is celebrated as World Post Day. Rakesh Kumar Said, “This year’s World Post Day and National Postal Week theme is “Together for trust collaborating for a safe and connected Future”. He added today in India almost 1.50 Crore Post Offices are available in the Country.
Whereas in Jharkhand State out of 24 districts 4500 + Post Offices are available and in Rural Areas its Significance and Popularity is more than anything else. A total of 13 General Post Offices are available in the state and 4112 Branches of Post Offices are present at Rural Areas.
The Post Office is connected with Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) Schemes, School Education and Literacy, Census Operation and Voter’s ID card, Whereas Farmer’s Initial Postal Order and Rural and Remote Areas Post Office Service is still active, Rakesh Kumar said.
Now, the Postal Service is connected with the Indian Railway and Airlines, People can send their letters and essential things like Raksha Bandhan Knot or Money Order by Postal Service.
