Ranchi: A sum of Rs 1091 crore will be spent to save the Damodar River across the Dhanbad Bokaro and Ramgarh districts.
Under the Namami Gange Project, all the drains and sewerage lines that fall into the river in Dhanbad Phusro of Bokaro districts and in Ramgarh will be diverted and they will be falling into the sewerage treatment from where the clean water will be then dropped into the main river.
The funds will be used for building the sewerage plant in three cities. Overall in Dhanbad Rs 800 crore will be spent while in Ramgarh Rs 238 crore and in Phusro Rs 53 crore will be spent.
The scheme has reached a tender stage in Phusro and Ramgarh and in Dhanbad, the DPR has been finalized and has been approved by the centre. In Ramgarh district, two sewerage treatment plants of 17 and 23 Million Litre Per Day will be constructed.
A total of 18 drains fall into the Damodar river in the Ramgarh district. In Ramgarh along with the banks of the river, a sewerage line will be constructed through which the drain water through pipes the water will reach the sewerage treatment plant.
