Rainfall reported across the state, rivers and dams start over flowing

Ranchi: Due to low pressure in the Bay of Bengal almost all the districts in the state on Thursday received uninterrupted spells of rain showers.

Rains in the capital Ranchi, Dhanbad and Jamshedpur continued till the late evening. Due to the pouring roads wore a deserted look. The MET department has predicted for similar weather conditions in the state on Friday also.

As per the weather department on Thursday also the districts of East and West Singhbhum, Simdega, Saraikela, Ranchi, Bokaro, Gumla, Hazaribagh, Khunti and Ramgarh witnessed rainfall throughout the day.

A report from Jamshedpur said that since Wednesday evening rainfall was happening in the area with Maango, Sakchi and Bistupur receiving heavy rainfall. A report from Saraikela said that due to the rainfall few gates of Chandil Dam have been opened.

The weather department has predicted for rains in the last week of the month also after which the weather might clear out.  On the other hand, the showers which are happening for the last three days had brought happiness back on the faces of the farmers who had got worried as previous week it had not rained at all.

In the last 24 hours, the Monsoon has remained normal in the state with light to medium range of rainfall taking place across the districts. Jamshedpur City had received maximum rainfall all 54.6 mm while Chaibasa was the coolest at 22.2 degrees and Jamshedpur recorded the highest temperature at 33.2 degrees.
