Ranchi: The Niti Aayog has come out with the state wise health rankings for the year 2018-19 as per which Lohardaga district has managed to bag the top spot in Jharkhand while Ranchi was at the second position.
The East Singhbhum district is at the third position in the ranking which is based on the data of the HMIS and NFHS. In this ranking, Chatra district was at the last position.
These rankings have been determined on the 27 parameters of health which have been laid down by the Government of India. A letter in this regard has been sent to all the Civil Surgeons by the health department in which they have been instructed to review the parameters and take necessary action.
In this rankings among the 27 parameters, the main focus has been accorded on pregnant women and facilities being provided to them including test, hemoglobin test, sex ratio, institutional delivery and birth of malnourished children. From this fiscal year every month the rankings would be issued every month. On the other hand, the Civil Surgeons have been asked to make a block-wise ranking at the district level so that poor performing blocks can be identified and improvement can be made in them.
