Ranchi: Mukti Sanstha performed mass cremation of 25 unclaimed dead bodies on the banks of the Jumar River on Sunday. Before cremation, the members of the organization prayed to God for the peace of the deceased soul. Then the members lit the funeral pyre.
Mukti Sanstha has been cremating unclaimed dead bodies for the last nine years. Preparations were being made by the organization for several days for the last rites of these dead bodies. After completing the legal formalities at RIMS, these unclaimed bodies were brought to the Jumar river bank. Then the last rites were performed.
It is noteworthy that till now 1670 unclaimed dead bodies have been cremated by the organization. Before this, several efforts were made by the police to identify these dead bodies. The police also issued advertisements several times for the identification of dead bodies. But these bodies could not be identified.
After no trace of their relatives was received, these bodies, which had been kept for a long time, were finally handed over to the organization for mass cremation. Before this, the members of the organization packed all the dead bodies lying in the RIMS mortuary and took them away in a tractor. Many of these bodies were decomposed. Therefore, those dead bodies were packed in plastic and sealed completely.
All the dead bodies were brought to the banks of the Jumar River and 32 pyres were decorated together. Then the dead bodies were burnt. All the rituals of cremation were also completed.
