Chatra: Labour Minister Satyanand Bhokta has ordered a probe into the case of assault on 16 labourers of Jharkhand who went to Kinnaur, Himachal Pradesh in search of employment and were working in a private company.
While talking to reporters here he said that the misbehavior and assault on the labourers will not be tolerated under any circumstances. The state government is with the workers. He has said that strict action will be taken against the culprits after an investigation in the matter.
The Minister said that the labourers of Jharkhand working in private factories in the Lumber area under Kinnaur of Himachal Pradesh were being made to do more work and were getting paying wages not only this the wages were also being paid late. On protesting, the workers were subjected to misbehavior and beatings by the local people and workers associated with the factory.
The Labour Minister has said that all the victims are being brought to Jharkhand by train and instructions have been issued to the labour superintendents concerned to take the labourers reaching Koderma station safely to their homes.
He said that the state government has made a special plan to connect the unemployed with employment at the local level by making a labour. Bhokta said that due to the global pandemic, there was difficulty in implementation of the plans but now the situation has returned to normal therefore the government is going to take concrete steps to stop the migration.
