Joba Manjhi inaugurates state level
World Breastfeeding Week campaign

Ranchi: Minister of Women, Child Development, and Joba Manjhi said that all have to do the work of making women of rural areas aware so that the misconceptions that are prevalent among them can be eliminated. 

Addressing the state-level program on the launch of “World Breastfeeding Week” at Palash Auditorium she said that his World Breastfeeding week campaign which runs from August 1 to August 7 is to be done not only for one week but for 365 days of the year and Pregnant women and lactating mothers have to be told about its importance. 

On this occasion, the minister made seven children eat food and flagged off the awareness-spreading van related to the program. Joba Manjhi said that through this program this message has to be spread among pregnant and lactating mothers that women who give birth to a child, the baby should be given the first milk of the mother within one hour of the birth, and the mother’s milk is very useful for the all-round development of the child.

She said that society has to be made aware that the mother should not give any food other than her milk in the first six months of her child, in that the necessary nutrients are available for the child. After six months it is necessary to give a supplementary diet with the right amount and right nutrients.

Along with this, nutritious food should be given along with breastfeeding for two years so that the child can remain healthy. Joba Manjhi said that it is very necessary to make people aware so that anemia free, malnutrition-free society can be built. Only by being aware, the mortality rate of children will come down and only healthy children can build a healthy society she said adding that work has to be done to give the right direction to adolescent girls also.

The root of anemia, malnutrition is the lack of proper nutrition for the girls therefore it is necessary to educate the girl child to keep them healthy, free them from anemia and get them married at the right time, and conceive in a mature body.
