Ranchi: Chief Electoral Officer K Ravikumar said that the registration of new voters has become easier now. Addressing a press conference on Monday he said that now new voters will get four qualifying dates for registration which include January 1, April 1, July 1 and October 1.
He said that voters can link voter cards with Aadhar cards and this is also being started from 1st August 2022. He said that if any voter does not have an Aadhar card, then they can link the voter card with any one of the 11 notified documents.
Regarding linking voter ID card with Aadhar card, the Chief Electoral Officer informed that voters will be provided the facility to link their Aadhar numbers online in NVSP, VHA applications, etc. Voters can fill Form 6B online on Voter’s Portal/ App for self-authentication and authenticate Aadhaar using OTP received on their mobile number registered with UIDAI.
He said that if the voter feels inconvenience in self-certifying then for their convenience booth level officers have been appointed for door-to-door verification. All offline received Form 6B will be digitized using Booth Level Officer Garuda App or within seven days of receipt of Officer Form he said.
