Ranchi: Jharkhand Police has issued an alert regarding mobile user’s scam 401. Police have appealed to the people of Jharkhand not to dial 401 on anyone’s request. With its help, all your calls can be diverted to a new number. After this you can become a victim of cyber fraud.
Cyber thugs call people and say that a parcel has arrived. Please confirm your address for delivery. When you say that we have not even ordered any parcel. So they say ok. But if this parcel is booked on your number, then you will have to cancel it. After this, cyber thugs ask you to dial 401 to cancel the parcel. After this, they also get the number dialed on which they have to forward the call.
By doing this, calls coming to your number are forwarded to the cyber criminal’s number. If your call has been forwarded, then first of all open the calling app in your mobile phone. After this, go to Settings and click on the option of call forwarding. Here you will see whether your call has been forwarded or not. If it is on then turn it off. In case of severe problems, you can stop call forwarding by calling customer care.
