Ranchi: State BJP spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo on Sunday rejected the claims of Leader of Opposition Hemant Soren who had alleged of a scam in the installation of street lights in the villages.
Addressing a press conference here he said that without being aware of the facts leveling such kinds of allegations showed the losing mentality of Hemant Soren. He said that the Mukhiya Sangh had informed the department that in different areas the street lights are being put up at different rates after which the government gave the order to ESSL to install the lights in the state on a common rate.
He said that as against the claims made by Mr Soren regarding the cost of the bulb which is Rs 1350 as against Rs 1850 being said by the JMM leader. Pratul said that the JMM did not want that street lights should be put up in the rural areas so that darkness can be removed, children and study and women live a respected life and it was due to this region that despite having a separate state 30 lakh homes were without power in which during the last 4.5 years of rule of Raghubar Government power has reached.
Pratul said that for the problems in the power sector Hemant Soren is to be blamed as he during his stint of 14 months as the Chief Minister kept the file related to the transmission lines pending on the papers and had he taken that decision people should have now got 24 hours of power in the state.
