Ganja seized on Odisha-Jharkhand border: Two smugglers arrested with 1 quintal of ganja, two absconding

Ranchi: Baharagora police arrested two people red-handed while carrying 1 quintal of ganja in Ghatshila. Smugglers arrested by police. Police said, As soon as they crossed the Jharkhand Odisha border in two cars carrying ganja from Andhra Pradesh and reached Baharagora area near Jharkhand border Jamshola border, the police who were already in ambush arrested them.

Police tried to stop both the cars during the checking operation, but the driver of one car managed to run away leaving the car at a long distance. But the police arrested the driver of the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and the accused passenger. Whereas another person traveling in Indigo Manja managed to escape leaving the ganja he was carrying in the car at the spot.

The police have been successful in getting information about the accused who had fled from the arrested accused. The police are claiming to arrest the concerned accused soon. In this case, 24-year-old Akash Namata, resident of Chunudih, Saurabh Kumar Das, 25, resident of Kapa Goda of Ghatshila police station area, have been arrested by the police and sent to jail.

Two cars Indigo Manza JH 05 ABH 4968, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz JH 5 BD 8237 have also been seized. Information about the case was given by Rural SP Rishabh Garg and SDPO Kuldeep Toppo at Ghatshila SDPO office. The seized ganja is said to be worth Rs 12 lakh. Both the accused arrested in the case have not been involved in such scandals in the past.
