ECI instructed to transfer police officers who are posted at one place for 3 years

Ranchi: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has started preparations for the Lok Sabha elections to be held in 2024.

Before the elections, ECI has written a letter to the Chief Secretary asking him to transfer the ADG to Sub Inspector rank officers who have been stuck at the same place for three years.

The Election Commission has said in a letter to the Chief Secretary that those officers whose tenure of three years in any district till June 30, 2023, should be removed.

The officers whose transfer has been directed by the Commission include ADG, IG, JAP, Commandant of IRB and SIRB, SP, SSP, ASP, DSP, Inspector, Sub Inspector, Sergeant Major, an equivalent of this rank posted in different districts.

Officials and officers posted in the Special Branch are included. After this letter of the Commission, transfer and posting of police officers and other officials are expected on a large scale in the state.
