DGP asks Maoists to return to main walk of life or bear the consequences

Dumka, Aug 1: Jharkhand DGP D K Pandey today issued a fresh ultimatum to the Maoists and other criminal outfits in the state to either lay down their weapon or join the main stream of life of be ready to face the bullets of the police.

Mr Pandey who was in the district to felicitate the jawans of the Sashtra Seema Bal and the district police which killed couple of Maoists few days ago in Gopikandar of this district said that the government will provide all the facilities needed for the jawans and they too should be ready to ward off anti social elements from the state.

Later talking to the press he said that Jharkhand was moving ahead on the path of development and such elements who will try to disturb the development will not be spared at any cost. He said that the state government has framed an attractive surrender policy and the Maoists should take advantage of that  and added that the police was committed to make the entire state including the Santhal Pargana area free from the maoist by 2018 end.

He said that the joint team of the district police and para military forces are carrying out coordinated anti-insurgency operations in the state. Mr Pandey said that the police will also take strict action against such criminal elements who demand extortion in the name of the Maoists for development and infrastructure related works. The DGP said that the police has now also commenced attaching the property of the Maoists.
