CM Fellowship Scheme, incentive amount to be given to the students of the state for academic excellence – Principal Secretary Rahul Purwar

Ranchi: Principal Secretary to Higher Education Department Rahul Purwar said, State government has come up with the CM Fellowship Scheme for the academic excellence of the students of Jharkhand.

Under this, there is a plan to promote research among those doing PhD from government or non-government universities of the state.

Under CM Fellowship Scheme, Rs 25000 per month will be given to UGC NET/CSIR NET passed students and Rs 22500 per month to Jharkhand Eligibility Test passed students for 4 years.

A total of 1000 students will benefit from this scheme every year.

Also, tuition assistance of Rs 1500 per month will be provided at Polytechnic, Diploma and Undergraduate level and Rs 2000 per month at Postgraduate level for a maximum period of one semester.

Principal Secretary of Higher and Technical Education Department, Rahul Purwar said these things in the press conference organized at Soochana Bhawan.

Principal Secretary Rahul Purwar said that Guruji Student Credit Scheme is an ambitious scheme of the state government.

Under this, students will be provided an education loan of up to Rs 15 lakh at a concessional rate of 4 annual simple interest for education in highly recognized top educational institutions.

Loan EMI will not have to be paid till the tuition period, EMI will be payable only after completing the course.

Free coaching will be provided to the students in reputed empaneled coaching institutes for the preparation of UPSC, JPSC and other competitive examinations.

Besides this, a monthly allowance of Rs 2500 will also be given.

To avail the benefits of this scheme, it will be mandatory to pass 12th from Jharkhand.

He said that under this scheme, 27000 students in 25 empanelled coaching institutes are expected to benefit.

Principal Secretary Purwar said that there is a plan to start Manki Munda Scholarship Scheme to improve the enrollment of girl students in technical educational institutions.

Under this, annual assistance of Rs 15,000 will be given for diploma and Rs 30,000 for degree.

Principal Secretary Rahul Purwar also gave information about other schemes and programs being launched by the Higher and Technical Education Department through the press conference.

Which includes Jharkhand Higher Education Merit Scholarship Scheme, Research Grant for organizing seminars/workshops/symposia/conferences, grants for sponsored research projects, Jharkhand State Higher Education Award Scheme, Scholarship Scheme for disabled and orphan students.

Regarding the work being done under the new National Education Policy 2020, it was said that all the state universities including Jharkhand Technological University have adopted the common credit and framework for the four-year undergraduate programme.

The Principal Secretary said that the Model University Act (Jharkhand Private Universities Bill) has been drafted to ensure and monitor quality teaching in private universities in the state.

The remuneration of bell-based teachers in universities has been increased to Rs 57,700 per month and in polytechnics to Rs 56,100 per month.

Besides, arrangements have also been made that they get this amount in full.
