Ranchi: Hearing on actress Ameesha Patel in the check bounce case going on in Ranchi Civil Court in Ranchi on Monday. The hearing took place in the court of Judicial Magistrate DN Shukla. Where the witness number one produced by the complainant Ajay Kumar Singh could not be cross-examined.
On behalf of the lawyer of actress Amisha Patel, a request was made to the court to give time again. After which witness number two was asked to be produced in the next hearing. Earlier, the lawyer of complainant Ajay Kumar Singh opposed the demand for time on behalf of Amisha Patel’s lawyer.
The lawyer said that the witnesses have been coming to the court for the last 2 days. They should be freed from testimony now. The court allowed this. The last hearing was held on 26 July. In this, on behalf of the accused Ajay Kumar Singh, the company’s manager Tinku Singh appeared in the court as a witness. But Ameesha Patel’s lawyer Jayaprakash did not cross-examine her. He had sought time from the court. For this reason, the court imposed a fine of Rs 500 on him.
Amisha Patel has appeared twice before in the Ranchi Civil Court in the check bounce case. Ameesha Patel is accused of duping Ajay Singh of Rs 2.5 crore in the name of making the film Desi Magic. Ajay says- According to the contract between the two, when the film was not released in June 2018, Ajay asked Ameesha to return the money.
After much procrastination, two checks of Rs 2.5 crore and Rs 50 lakh were given in October 2018, which bounced. After this Ajay Singh has filed a case in Ranchi Civil Court.
