Mumbai: A day after announcing a temporary break from social media, megastar Amitabh Bachchan said he still needs “more rest.”
In a reflective post on his Tumblr blog, the veteran actor wrote: “Yet more rest needed .. adjusting .. thinking and wondering .. the human body and its uniqueness.”
The note came a day after he informed fans that he would be stepping away from social media for a few days. On X (formerly Twitter), he had posted: “Apologies. I seek forgiveness. I have been advised to take a few days off to rest and recover, so I am unable to write anything at the moment.”
Earlier, while extending Dussehra greetings on his official blog, Bachchan had shared a similar message. He revealed that he was under strict instructions to rest and recuperate, which also required him to limit communication during the period. The 84-year-old actor expressed hope that he would soon be able to resume interacting with his followers.
Reports suggest the latest update comes amid news of a knee injury he sustained while shooting for the television quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati 18. Earlier this month, Bachchan had told viewers that he slipped during a shoot and injured his knee. He was seen sitting during the opening segment of the show and said the injury had made standing uncomfortable, though he indicated it was not serious.
The actor has not confirmed whether the current advice to rest is related to the knee injury.
