9 people hit by train in Jharkhand

Hazaribagh :  9 people were hit by a train in Charhi of Hazaribagh. Three people have died in this accident. The incident is being reported near railway number 23 Daldaliya village. The incident occurred around 7.00 am on October 31.

Seven women and two men from Sarbaha village of Charhi Panchayat were going to bring milky soil on a tractor. The accident took place near marshland number 23 between Charhi and Base of Barkakana – Koderma route. The incident is said to be due to the passenger train colliding with the tractor from behind. However, this has not been confirmed by the Railways.

Eight men and women of Sadabaha village were walking from home to collect milky soil. Meanwhile, they started leaving in the trolley of the tractor coming from behind. The tractor driver had crossed the railway track. Due to the presence of a railway track at the other end, the tractor driver was unable to get out.

While he was trying, the tractor was thrown away due to the impact of the passenger train from behind. Due to this, a woman traveling in the tractor, Jhuniya Devi, aged around 55 years, husband Jagdev Mahato, Ramesh Ganjhu, and aged around 30 years, father Banwari Ganjhu died on the spot. Draupadi Devi, aged about 50 years, died during treatment at Arogyam Hospital Hazaribagh.

As soon as the accident occurred, the tractor driver ran away safely. The incident was given by the villagers. Meanwhile, the villagers took all the injured with the help of police and with the help of ambulance, they were sent to Hazaribagh Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College Hospital, Arogyam Hospital and Ranchi Road for treatment.

Draupadi Devi died while being treated at Arogyam Hospital. While the other five injured include Lalo Devi (40) year old husband Mahendra Ganjhu, Subaso Devi husband late Birendra Mahato, Savitri Devi husband Daleshwar Mahato, Karan Mahato father Chandan Mahato, Sangeeta Devi husband deceased Ramesh Ganjhu. All are residents of the same village Sadabaha. Sangeeta Devi is the wife of deceased Ramesh Ganjhu. Both husband and wife had left the house together. There is mourning in the entire village.
