Guv suggests to rename Audrey House as Mahatma Gandhi memorial

Ranchi, Jun 4: Jharkhand Governor Draupadi Murmu lauded that Tana Bhagats of the state who despite 70 years of Independence have kept alive the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi despite being socially and economically weak still worship the teaching s of Bapu.

 

Addressing a function organised at the Audrey House here to commemorate 100 years of arrival of Gandhiji in Ranchi she said that there was a need for every person to imbibe the teachings of Bapu in their lives. She said that on this day a century a go Bapu had held talks with the Bristishers in this very house for the welfare of the people. She urged that the name of Audrey House be changed to Mahatma Gandhi memorial and urged the people not to fight on peety issues and work for development of the nation.

 

Addressing the function Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that for the strengthening of the panchayats the Prime Minister on April 24 last year launched the Gramuday Se Bharat Uday programme from Jamshedpur under which the people of the villages would be able to farme the schemes for the development of their own villages. He said that the government  has constituted panchayat secretariats which would be cooperating the mukhiyas for the development of the village. He said that to promote cottage and small scale industries in the villages the Mukhymantri Udyami Sakhi Mandals have been formed which would work for the empowerment of the woman.
