Ranchi: The Enforcement Directorate has summoned IAS Pooja Singhal for quizzing in the money laundering case. She has been asked to turn up at the zonal headquarters of the ED in Ranchi at 11 AM on Tuesday. ED sources said that the officer has been summoned for questioning.
However, they did not elaborate on the time duration of questions or the questions which are likely to put forward before her. The ED had interrogated her husband Abhishek Jha on Sunday and further questioned him on Monday. Their chartered accountant Suman Singh has already been arrested and the ED also secured his five days police remand. He is currently being questioned and the agency was also confronted him with Abhishek Jha.
The questioning of Abhishek Jha is likely to be continued on Tuesday also. Additional officials of the IT department have been pressed in scrutinizing documents seized during the raid and those gathered during the course of the investigation. Among the documents are some official papers related to the Khunti district where she was posted as DC but it is not clear whether these documents pertain to the MNREGA scam that the agency is probing.
The ED has gathered sufficient primary evidence to suggest that she is in close connection with Suman Singh and had financial transactions with him. On Friday the ED had conducted simultaneous raids across multiple locations in the country related to IAS Pooja Singhal and her close associates in connection with a Mnrega Scam during which cash worth Rs 19.31 crore was recovered from the house of her CA and recovered documents of investments and properties worth Rs 150 crore.
