World Cancer Awareness Day observed at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University

Ranchi: World Cancer Awareness Day observed at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University on Thursday. Surgical Oncologist of RIMS Dr. Rohit Jha and Dr. Sumedha Gargy discussed the rampant cases of cancer that is caused due to consumption of Narcotics like tobacco, cigarettes and alcohol. He said that the only way to stop this is not to consume such products that are the cause of oral cancer and other forms of the disease.

Dr. Sumedha Gargy made the students aware about Gynecological cancers like ovarian, cervical and breast cancer. She said that early detection can save lives of people and screening from time to time is a must.

The programme was attended by Dr. Namita Singh, Dr. Abhay Krishna Singh and Dr. Shama Sonali, Dr. Geetanjali Singh. Almost 350 students from different faculties attended the Awareness programme.
