Work being done on a war footing for the arrival of President Draupadi Murmu to Khunti

Khunti: Preparations have been intensified for the arrival of President Draupadi Murmu to Khunti and Ulihatu on November 15 on the occasion of Jharkhand Foundation Day and the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda.

Work is being done on a war footing in Khunti and Ulihatu regarding the organization of the program and also on the security arrangements front. 

On Tuesday Jharkhand Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh, DGP Neeraj Sinha and other officials took stock of the preparations. Jharkhand Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh and DGP Neeraj Sinha first reached the Birsa Football Stadium located at Birsa College, Khunti, where President Draupadi Murmu will participate in the women’s conference cum tribal women’s self-help group conference.

They took stock of other arrangements including the preparations for organizing the event. Several directions were given to Deputy Commissioner Shashi Ranjan in this regard.

The Chief Secretary also inspected the under-construction helipads at Simbukel and Ulihatu where he took stock of the security arrangements and other arrangements. The team of officers later reached Ulihatu, the native village of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, where they inspected the preparations being done in Birsa Oda. They took information about the President’s proposed wreath and other programs and also inquired about the preparations related to it.

He directed the Deputy Commissioner to improve the premises of Birsa Oda, and make arrangements for security and other instructions. He also took stock of the Birsa Munda Complex. As per the convenience of the President, he directed to make arrangements for garlanding. He directed to improve the security arrangements and other arrangements and directed to build a pylon gate in Ulihatu.

Talking to reporters, Deputy Commissioner Shashi Ranjan said that senior officials had visited from Ranchi. The Chief Secretary directed to make many changes in the residence of Birsa Munda. He has asked to be developed in such a way that Ulihatu can be made grand for the times to come. 

The Deputy Commissioner said that people will get to see better Ulihatu in the coming time. On the occasion, Welfare Secretary Srinivasan, Planning Development and Disaster Management Department Secretary Amitabh Kaushal, Welfare Department Additional Secretary Ajay Kumar Jha, Ranchi Zone IG Pankaj Kamboj, ADG Operations Sanjay Anand Latkar, DIG Anish Gupta, DC Shashi Ranjan, SP Aman Kumar and other officers were present.
