Ranchi/Khunti: Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises on Thursday provided machinery and toolkits to rural artisans under the Village Industries Development Scheme at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Torpa, Khunti.
In the distribution program, Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister and MP from Khunti parliamentary constituency Arjun Munda and KVIC Chairman Manoj Kumar distributed state-of-the-art equipment to 758 trained artisans of Jharkhand and certificates after training to 100 trainees.
On this occasion, MLA from Khunti Assembly constituency of Jharkhand Nilkanth Singh Munda, MLA Torpa Assembly Kochhe Munda, former Lok Sabha Speaker Padmabhushan Kadiya Munda, KVIC Eastern Region Member Manoj Kumar Singh and former expert member of KVIC Padmashree Ashok Bhagat were present.
During the distribution program, 600 beekeepers were given 600 bee boxes, 4 tamarind processing machines, 02 fruit and vegetable processing machines, 10 footwear manufacturing machines, 20 waste wood craft toolkits, 42 electric powered chalks, 80 under service industry, under Gramodyog Vikas Yojana.
Plumber tool kit, 2 e-rickshaws and loan checks were distributed to the beneficiaries under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program (PMEGP).
Along with this, certificates were also given to 100 participants trained from Non-Departmental Training Centre, Khadi and Village Industries Commission, Gumla.
Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Arjun Munda said that under the leadership of Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the mantra of ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘Make in India’ has given Khadi recognition on the global platform.
KVIC is doing excellent work to make the artisans of rural areas empowered, capable and self-reliant.
By joining KVIC, youth are becoming self-reliant by setting up new industries.
He appealed to the youth of his Lok Sabha constituency to become self-reliant by joining ‘New India’s New Khadi’ and help in building a developed India.
Addressing the beneficiaries, Chairman KVIC Shri Manoj Kumar said that due to the ‘Guarantee of Modi Government’ in the last 9 years, the reach of Khadi and village industry products has gone from local to global.
He further said that after modern training of artisans on a large scale by KVIC to connect the skilled artisans of rural India with the ‘Self-reliant India, Developed India and ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat Abhiyan’ being run under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the machinery is being provided to the artisans on a large scale.
And toolkit is being provided.
Under the Village Industries Development Scheme, KVIC has so far distributed electric chalk to more than 27 thousand potter brothers and sisters, which has brought a big change in the lives of more than 1 lakh potters.
Under this scheme, more than 6000 toolkits and machinery have been distributed, while under the Honey Mission Scheme, more than 2 lakh honey bee-boxes and bee colonies have been distributed to 20,000 beneficiaries so far.
Sharing his views with the artisans, KVIC Chairman Manoj Kumar said that in the last 9 years, ‘New Khadi of New India’ has given a new direction to ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan’.
As a result, more than four times the sales of Khadi products have been recorded during this period.
With the increase in production and sale of Khadi, the artisans of rural India have become economically prosperous.
He further said that in order to realize the dreams of a self-reliant India of the Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission, KVIC is going to villages and towns in India and promoting various village industrial activities like beekeeping, pottery, leatherwork, agarbatti industry, waste wood.
And is providing training for skill development to very poor workers in many rural cottage industries like turn wood craft.
Machinery and toolkits related to the concerned industry are distributed to the trained workers.
In the same sequence, in the last years in Jharkhand, 26000 bee families and bee boxes were distributed to 2600 beekeepers, electric wheel to 560 potters, paddle operated agarbatti machine to 90 workers associated with agarbatti manufacturing, toolkit to 215 cobblers and paduka manufacturing equipment.
Machines and toolkits have been distributed to 40 tanners, 44 machines and toolkits have been distributed to 440 workers associated with tamarind processing, 70 tool kits have been distributed to artisans associated with waste wood art and 20 electrician tool kits have been distributed to 20 workers associated with the service industry.
While interacting directly with the artisans, Chairman KVIC Shri Manoj Kumar said that in the last five years, 8363 new units have been established under PMEGP in Jharkhand State for which the beneficiaries have been given Marginal subsidy of Rs 211.23 crore has been paid.
66,902 new jobs were created through these units.
In the last five years alone, 244 new units have been established in Khunti district for which entrepreneurs have been given Marginal subsidy of Rs 4.22 crore.
Due to this, 1952 new jobs have been created here.
