Towards a new era of education in Jharkhand: 37,309 students appear in entrance exam for admissions in CM Schools of Excellence (SoEs)

Ranchi: Ruby Das, a resident of Jamshedpur, is beaming with renewed hopes for the future of her daughter as her daughter Anjana Das will now be able to attend English medium school. Ruby Das was not able to send her meritorious daughter to a CBSE-affiliated school due to financial constraints. 

The financial deterrent that people face in the path of providing better educational facilities towards their children has been done away with by the recent launch of the Schools of Excellence by Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

While narrating how much of a difference will this move bring to the future of her daughter Ruby Das got emotional. This was a common scene at exam centres across the state today where the entrance for securing admissions to the SoEs got conducted. That the step to secure standardization in education and providing equal opportunities to students across all sections of society through the launch of SoEs by the Chief Minister has been received well by the students of the state.

Parents have come forward to extend their heartiest thanks to the government for taking this historic step. There was an air of enthusiasm among the students regarding admissions to the Schools of Excellence (SoEs). A total of 37,309 students appeared in the entrance test for a total of 11,986 available seats. 

Maximum 3,915 students appeared in Deoghar, 3,344 in Palamu, 2,517 in Lohardaga, 2,352 in Chatra, 1,818 in Seraikela-Kharsawan, 1,693 in Giridih, 1,638 in East Singhbhum, 1,607 in Ramgarh, 1,554 in Ranchi. Keeping in view the demand of the parents, the deadline for submission of applications in Schools of Excellence (SoEs) was extended till May 25, 2023 for which the entrance was conducted on Tuesday. 

Further, the first merit list will be released on June 7 and enrollment will start from June 12 onwards according to the merit list.
