ED back in action: Raids at 12 locations of MLA Pradeep Yadav and his close associates

Ranchi/Godda/Dumka: The ED has once again taken major action in the state as on Tuesday the agency raided 12 places in the state along with those of MLA Pradeep Yadav and his close associates spread across three separate districts of Jharkhand.

In the places raided by ED, along with that of MLA Pradeep Yadav the team of ED also raided the house of builder Shivkumar Yadav located in Cheshire Home Road. It is being said that the ED team has raided Shivakumar’s house in connection with the land scam case.

The Income Tax Department had raided the premises of MLA Pradeep Yadav before the ED. The raid was done on November 4, 2022 by the team of the Income Tax Department. At that time also Pradeep Yadav had called it politically motivated. This time the ED has raided the MLA’s premises. Till now no official statement has come from the MLA in this matter, nor has the ED issued any statement regarding this raid.

Raid was also held at the houses of two big contractors of the Drinking Water and Sanitation Department including Ajay Kumar Jha alias Mickey and Vinod Lal. The investigating agency is examining the papers at their place. Contractor Vinod Kumar Lal is the outgoing Vice President of Dumka Municipal Council whereas Ajay Kumar Jha’s wife Shweta Jha has been the president. Many close people of Pradeep Yadav are also under the radar of ED.

According to the information received, ED is conducting this raid in case of disproportionate assets. Raids are being conducted at the close relatives of Congress MLA Pradeep Yadav. It is being said that a report was prepared after the raid by the Income Tax Department team. The same report was sent to ED on the basis of which ED has conducted this raid.

The Income Tax Department had raided the premises of Congress MLA Pradeep Yadav as well as Bermo MLA Kumar Jaimangal Singh alias Anoop Singh on 4 November 2022. IT had raided Pradeep Yadav’s residence in Ranchi and Godda and Anoop Singh’s official residence in Bermo and Ranchi. Eleven IEDs recovered by security forces in West Singhbhum Chaibasa: In a major success for the security forces 11 IEDs have been recovered from forests of two separate police stations of the West Singhbhum district. 

Chaibasa SP Ashutosh Shekhar said that during the search and combing operations against the Maoists, five IEDs were recovered from Tumbakaha village and its surrounding areas while another six of them were recovered from separate locations under Goeilkera Police Station areas.

He said that jawans have also recovered a ditch full of iron rods and four spike halls equipped with arrows. The SP said that from the safety point of view the bombs were defused at the place where they had been recovered. He said that search and combing operations are still on in the area.
