Ranchi: In view of the extreme heat wave, the Jharkhand government has changed the timing of all the schools in the state. It has been implemented from 22 April. Its order has been issued by Education Secretary Uma Shankar Singh.
In the order issued, it has been said that keeping in mind the extreme heat and heat wave in Jharkhand, all categories of government, non-government aided/unaided (including minority) and in all private schools, classes from class KG to class 8 will be conducted from 7 am to 11.30 am.
Similarly, classes above class 9 will be conducted from 7 am to 12 noon. During this period, prayer meetings or sports and other activities will not be conducted in sunlight. Mid-day meals will continue to operate.
A separate decision will be taken and communicated regarding compensation for the loss in children’s education during this period. This order will remain in force from April 22, 2024, until further orders.
