Suspended IAS officer Chhavi Ranjan files petition in PMLA court

Ranchi: Chhavi Ranjan, former Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi and a suspended IAS officer currently incarcerated, has filed a petition in the Special Court under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in Ranchi. In his petition, he has requested the court to allow him access to certain documents seized by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) during their raid.

However, the charge sheet filed by Chhavi Ranjan does not mention these documents. As a result, the court has asked him to specify which documents he wishes to review. It is notable that a similar request was made by Pooja Singhal, the accused in a money laundering case linked to the MNREGA scam, which the court had accepted.
