Sub zonal commander surrendered

Ranchi: Impressed by the surrender and rehabilitation policy of the Jharkhand government, the sub-zonal commander of the banned militant organization JJMP, Kamlesh Singh alias Mukesh alias Nana, surrendered before Superintendent of Police Anjani Anjan and Commandant of CRPF 11th Battalion Ved Prakash Tripathi at Latehar Police Office on Friday.

After the surrender, the SP and Commandant welcomed him by giving him a bouquet and garlanding him. SP Anjani Anjan said that in Latehar district, the team of Latehar Police, CRPF, Cobra Battalion, Jharkhand Jaguar is continuously conducting search operations against extremist organizations like CPI Maoist, JJMP, TSPC, PLFI etc. Due to which the militant organization has become quite weak. Many militants are surrendering. 

In this sequence, JJMP subzonal commander Kamlesh Singh alias Mukesh alias Nana has surrendered after being influenced by the government’s policy. He said that extremist organizations or criminals will become obstacles to development. Police will take action against him. He said that all the militants have lost their way. He should surrender after being influenced by the government’s policy, otherwise, he may lose his life due to police action.

Commandant Ved Prakash Tripathi said that the ongoing campaign against militants is getting success. A large quantity of weapons and militants have been arrested during this operation. Second Commandant of CRPF 214 Battalion Vinod Kumar Kanojia, CDPO Santosh Kumar Mishra, Baresadh police station in charge Ranjit Yadav etc. were present on the occasion.

Kamlesh Singh, the surrendered subzonal commander, has been associated with the militant organization for the last 15 years. In 2008, the banned militant organization BJP had joined Badal’s squad of Maoists. Was active there for about 2 years and was involved in many encounters. After this, in 2010, he joined the squad of banned militant organization JJMP supremo Pappu Lohra. Since then he has carried out many incidents.

Kamlesh has been involved in four major incidents. In which the encounter took place in Doki of Manika police station area in 2011, the encounter in Manasuti forest of Satbarwa police station in 2012, the encounter in Bendi forest in 2014 in which two JJMP militants were killed. He has also been involved in an encounter. In the year 2020, he was also involved in an encounter that took place in Paharkocha of the Baresadh police station area. Apart from this, he has also been involved in many encounters.

After being active in continuous incidents, Kamlesh Singh was made the Sub General Commander by the JJMP militant organization in 2013. After that, he used to collect levies from Satbarwa, Lesliganj, Chhipadohar, Garu, Barwadih police station area. After surrendering, Sub Zonal Commander Kamlesh Singh said that CPI Maoists used to come and go in the village. Due to pressure from militants, CPI joined Maoists in 2008. Stayed there for about 2 years. After this, JJMP joined the militant organization in 2010.

After that, influenced by the government’s surrender policy, he surrendered. He said that all the companions have gone astray in the forest. Appealed to those comrades to surrender. He said that the fight cannot be won with guns. He said that the organization has become very weak due to the continuous operations conducted by the police. Kamlesh’s wife, a son and a daughter were present during the surrender.
