Daltonganj: Sleuths of the Anti Corruption Bureau on Monday arrested a sub-inspector posted at Nawagarh OP while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000.
ACB officials said that Incharge of Nawagarh OP Awadh Kishore Pandey had caught a tractor accusing it of being involved in illegal mining. Subsequently, he was demanding the bribe from the owner of the vehicle to release his vehicle.
Since the owner Upendra Nath Pandey did not want to pay a bribe he registered his complaint with the ACB. Post the verification of the complaint the ACB laid a trap and arrested the sub inspector as soon as money exchanged hands after which he was taken away by the team to Medninagar Office.
