Students of IIT-ISM Dhanbad stage protest demanding online exams

Dhanbad: Students of B Tech and M Tech of the IIT-ISM Dhanbad staged a protest inside the campus demanding that an online examination should be held. The students said that when they had done online study then why their exams were being taken offline.

The students staged a gherao of the Administrative block of the IIT. The students said that even IIT Kanpur had first planned to take offline exams but later was taken back. Since nearly 2,000 students were participating in the agitation senior officials of the institution reached on the spot.

Director of Institute Professor Rajeev Shekhar held a dialogue with the students and asked them to vacate the area. To prevent any untoward incident private security guards were also deployed on the campus.

Professor Shekhar said that students had been previously informed that the exams will be held in offline mode and even the students had agreed to the proposal but now the unnecessary issue is being created on the other hand students remained over their demand of having online exams.
