Ranchi: During the ongoing Budget Session on Tuesday legislators raised the issue of illegal stone mining in the state, especially in the area of Santhal Pargana. Congress MLA from Jamtara Dr. Irfan Ansari raises the issue of illegal stone minning in Boka Pahadi of his constituency.
He said that where mining is happening at that spot was a religious place of the tribals who are also opposing the mining activity in the area. He went on to claim that in 2017 lease was given to outsiders and alleged that people belonging to the BJP are involved in illegal mining in the area. Minister Incharge Badal said that a lease had been provided for mining as per the rules as the first
approval of Gram Sabha was taken and thereafter NOC was obtained from Zilla Parishad.
He said that the Gram Sabha was held under the Mukhiya of the area however despite that if the MLA is not satisfied then a probe would be conducted by the DC in which representative of the MLA will be also included. On the other hand, the MLAs of the BJP and those from Jharkhand Jantantrik Morcha attacked the government over the issue of environmental clearances to 70 stone mines and crusher units in Sahibganj.
The MLAs also came into the well of the house and accused the government of giving a misleading reply. Despite requests by the Speaker they did not return to their seats and indulged in slogan shouting. The question in this regard was raised by MLA Saryu Rai.
Separately while replying to a query raised by JMM MLA Mathura Prasad Mahto, Education Minister Jaggarnath Mahto said that amendments in the rules for the transfer of teachers have been approved by the personnel and finance department and now the file has been sent to the law department for approval.
He said that after the necessary approvals teachers who have worked for three years will be eligible for transfer in their home districts against an earlier provision of five years. Moreover, there will be no time period boundation for couples working as teachers or Divyang or ill teachers.
