Ranchi: A recent report from the Jharkhand Police highlights the ongoing progress in crime control across the state. According to the report, over the past month, Jharkhand Police have arrested a total of 1,901 suspects, averaging 64 arrests per day. This figure reflects the police’s active efforts and the strengthening of surveillance mechanisms across the state.
The arrest figures vary across districts, with Ranchi leading the chart with 182 arrests, followed by Jamshedpur with 176 and Deoghar with 144. On the other hand, Lohardaga reported the fewest arrests, with only 20, followed by Pakur with 19. Additionally, railway zones such as Dhanbad and Jamshedpur saw limited enforcement actions.
District-wise data shows significant variations, with Garhwa recording 132 arrests, Dhanbad 112, Hazaribagh 105, Khunti 103, and Giridih 96. Other districts such as Chatra (87), Bokaro (86), Palamu (76), and Koderma (75) also reported considerable arrests. Districts like Sahibganj, Jamtara, Latehar, and Gumla saw moderate arrests, while Saraikela (49), Chaibasa (45), Godda (44), Ramgarh (33), and Simdega (36) had relatively fewer.
In addition to the arrests, the police have also seized a significant quantity of arms and explosives. During this period, authorities recovered 47 weapons, 1,249 rounds of ammunition, and three bombs, indicating the ongoing efforts to curb criminal activities in the region.
