Skills of women self-help groups will reach market, Gujiya / Pedukia stall to come up during festival season

Ranchi: The state government itself has taken steps to brand the skills of women belonging to women self-help groups of urban areas to make them self-reliant.

Very soon, Gujiya and Pedukiya under the brand Son- Chiriya will be available in various markets of Ranchi through various stalls which will be put in the capital. It was duly launched on Wednesday in the Office of the Directorate of Urban Administration under the Department of Urban Development and Housing in the presence of director Vijaya Jadhav.

A large number of members of women self-help groups started production of Pedukia from pure ghee and khoya, keeping the purity intact with worship. Director Vijaya Jadhav herself was also seen making gujiyas to boost the morale of women. On the occasion, she said that under Deendayal Antyodaya-Urban Livelihood Mission the department want the women to be financially promoted. Now the products manufactured by them will reach the market and in the first phase, stalls will be set up at important places of capital including Jharkhand Mantralaya Bhawan, Jupmi Bhawan, Nepal House, Atal Vendor Market, Big Bazaar, Nucleus Mall, Kutchury Chowk etc. The brand name of this product will be Son Chiriya which is issued by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. During this programme, Director of Urban Administration Vijaya Jadhav along with Assistant Directors Yogendra Prasad and Shailesh Priyadarshi, Smart City GM Rakesh Kumar Nandkolyar, Chief Finance Officer Jyoti Pushp, Public Relations Officer Amit Kumar, Kumar Bam, Saloni Singh Pahwa and others were present.
